Dr. Bruno Vergès
Professor of Endocrinology and Diabetology, University of Burgundy, France
Professor Verges is a renowned specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases, with a Doctorate in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine BROUSSAIS-HOTEL DIEU in Paris (1986). He has completed his Internship at the Hospitals of Paris and post-doctoral training in the Laboratories of Brian Brewer (NIH, Bethesda, USA) in 1990 and 1991.
Since November 1991, he has been a Professor of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases at the University Hospital of Dijon and is also the Head of the Endocrinology, Diabetology, and Metabolic Diseases Department at the same hospital. He leads the PADYS research team at the INSERM LNC-UMR1231 research center, focusing on dyslipoproteinemia in humans, mainly in diabetes and insulin resistance.
Professor Verges has published over 340 original papers in international journals and has made more than 600 scientific presentations at national and international congresses. He served as Secretary General of the French Society of Endocrinology (2015-2016) and President of the Scientific Council of the Société Francophone du Diabète (SFD) (2015-2018).
